Established in 1975, the visionary Mr. Mehar Singh Chandna embarked on a journey that would shape the future of jewellery craftsmanship. Beginning with modest origins, he laid the foundation of a legacy that continues to shine brighter with time.From humble beginnings, crafting pieces in the basement of his home on 17th Ave SW, to the inauguration of his first store, Playway Jewellers, on 1st Ave NE in Bridgeland, the journey was one of dedication and passion. The 80s witnessed the emergence of Bombay Jewellers on 8th Ave and 52nd St in Pine Ridge, embracing the spirit of innovation. Being the pioneer of 22K jewellery in Winnipeg, Mr. Chandna traveled monthly to meet the demands of customers, carving a name for himself on Notre Dame Ave.With a skilled team of 12 goldsmiths, the 80s and 90s brought custom handmade designs to the Calgary community, designs that continue to be cherished across generations. In 1996, the monumental Koh-i-noor Jewellers was born, swiftly becoming a prominent importer of 22K gold. The showroom, located on 32nd Ave and 60th Street, became a beacon of craftsmanship and beauty.
